1) Bass

The bass is created in Serum 2 using three separate layers — sub, mid and top — creating a lively funky groove that perfectly complements the kick and is further enhanced by Kickstart sidechain movement. Slight variations between the bass layers create the feeling of a real bass player performing fingerstyle and slap techniques. In the pre-drops, the bass switches from the funky groove into a sustained pad-like movement, playing the notes C# - F - C, while additional panning automation creates extra depth and motion before the final pre-drop.

2) Drums

A clear house drum arrangement keeps the pulse with a strong four-on-the-floor groove. The detailed percussion patterns add a funky feel through small rhythmic accents that bring the whole track to life. Tom-based fills before the drops create the feeling of a live drummer and add extra energy to the transitions.

3) Instruments

The vocal pad, built on only three notes C - A# - D#, adds melodic color and atmosphere to the drops without overcrowding the arrangement. In the final pre-drop, the string part created in Serum 2 enters, following the same chord progression while adding a melodic upper voice that increases tension. Together with additional layers and gradual filter automation, it builds the energy into the final drop.

4) Chords

The main section features a chord progression of Dbmaj7 - Fm7, while the pre-drops introduce the sequence Bbm - Db - Fm - Eb. The chords are created with a Serum 2 preset called E Piano 1, processed with stock Ableton effects and Kickstart to create a constantly moving flanger-like pad texture. Subtle filter automation during the pre-drops adds more movement and tension, pushing the track forward. Funky guitar accents, built with Ableton instruments, bring additional groove and dancefloor energy to the arrangement.

5) Full Project

The whole project combines a consistent house foundation with many small musical details that create the feeling of live musicians performing, bringing additional life and movement to the arrangement.
