Inside The Project Discip - Red Room Ableton Remake
1) Bass

Two simple Serum 2 presets, Bass 1 and Bass 2, feature thoughtfully assigned macros for quick automation and easy sound customization. Together they create a powerful question-and-answer groove, reinforced by subtle sub accents around the G and G# notes. The bassline locks perfectly with the steady four-on-the-floor kick, carrying both the groove and the main musical movement of the track. Gentle high-cut filter automation gradually opens before the drop, adding a clean, minimal transition that keeps this stripped-back bassline feeling dynamic while preserving its simplicity.
2) Drums

The drum section delivers a dry, clean and highly focused groove, where every element has a clear purpose. The groove constantly evolves through alternating tom, crash and open-hat accents in every bar, while subtle low-cut filtering on the kick adds movement, smooth transitions and extra punch without sacrificing the track's minimalist feel. Snare fills add momentum before transitions, while the scratch becomes one of the track's signature details—working not only as a rhythmic texture, but also as a clever musical response to the bass phrase, replacing the second bass answer at the end of each cycle and making the groove feel even more dynamic.
3) Chords / Synth

The synths are used purely as tension-building elements rather than traditional melodic parts. A simple Two-note Serum 2 pluck (C, D#), slowly opening and closing high-frequency pads, and a piercing siren-like texture create the entire movement of the breakdown. Filter automation gradually opens the pads, transforming them into a rising atmosphere before everything suddenly cuts away, leaving only long reverb and delay tails together with the pluck sound hanging in the empty space. This minimal arrangement creates a strong sense of tension, leading into the final two bars where a vocal sweep introduces the powerful drop.

This project shows the power of minimalism: two strong drops, a long breakdown and precise automation create movement without unnecessary layers. A clean structure, evolving groove and detailed transitions make every production decision easy to explore and learn from.
All TMA projects and templates are built with a clean, professional and consistent arrangement, allowing you to quickly understand the structure and find every production element — MIDI, notes, chords, Serum presets, samples, sound design and mix techniques.
