INSIDE THE PROJECT: ANCESTRAL WAVES – AFRO HOUSE TEMPLATE (FRANCIS MERCIER, NITEFREAK STYLE)
1)Piano

The piano is the main instrument of the track, built from rich, wide chord voicings that stack across multiple octaves rather than simple triads. The harmony has that lush, emotional quality typical of Francis Mercier and Nitefreak productions, with chords held and layered densely to create a warm, immersive bed for the rest of the arrangement.
2) Synths

A synth is layered on top of the piano, moving fluidly between mid and high frequency ranges to add shimmer and atmosphere without competing with the piano's harmonic core. In the second drop, an additional saw-wave synth is introduced, thickening the texture and raising the energy for that second peak of the track.
3) Afro Lead

The Afro Lead is more of a synth-driven melodic element — slightly gritty and bright in tone, with notes that glide and stretch smoothly from one to the next rather than sitting as short, separated hits. This flowing, expressive character gives the track its distinct Afro house identity and ties it closely to the Francis Mercier sound.
4) Drums & Percussion
A large, detailed Afro house percussion group: kick, claps (regular and short), multiple toms and tom percussion, wood percussion, mid percussion, several shaker and hat layers, plus tambourine — all interlocking to create the dense, polyrhythmic groove that defines the genre.
5) Fx & Vocal Elements
On top of the core instrumentation, additional textures include acapella vocal chops, djembe hits, risers, downlifters, reverb snares, and build-up snares — all used to build tension and mark transitions between sections, along with vocal synth/pad layers and additional pluck and string elements for extra texture.
6)Arrangement / Full Project View

The track builds from the piano's rich harmonic foundation, layering in atmospheric synths, the signature Afro lead motif, and a deep, detailed percussion group. The second drop introduces an extra saw synth for added intensity, while vocal chops, djembe, and riser/downlifter effects drive the transitions — together creating that immersive, groove-driven Afro house sound in the style of Francis Mercier and Nitefreak.
