Inside The Project Above & Beyond, Victoria Horn - When You Believe  Ableton Remake

1)Low End

The low end is built from two Serum 2 instruments. Sub Bass creates the low-frequency groove, responding to the kick on the offbeat, while Bass adds a melodic groove and reinforces the accents of the sub. Both parts are created without unnecessary plugins, with extensive automation providing development and build-up into the drop without adding extra instruments.

2) Instruments & Harmony

The arrangement uses large stacks of instruments across different sections, creating development and changing the overall tonal character. In the breakdown before the second drop, two Break Pads, Reese Bass and Strings, all created in Serum 2, build a huge and wide harmonic foundation with the chord progression C#m → D# → E → F# → C#m. An additional Piano preset emphasizes the melody, while Glide Arp adds movement to the groove.

3) Drums, FX

The drums follow a steady four-on-the-floor groove with no unnecessary percussion or accents, leaving all the movement to the arpeggiators and bass. The main Uplifter and Downlifter FX are created from a single Serum 2 Noise FX preset instead of samples, with automation allowing them to adapt flexibly to the arrangement. Kickstart sidechain adds groove and movement while keeping the kick clear and punchy.

4) Full Project

Each section of the arrangement uses different instrument stacks, creating constant development and keeping the track from feeling repetitive. This is supported by a steady groove and a wide, stadium-like atmosphere throughout the track.

All TMA projects and templates feature a clean, professional arrangement, making it easy to understand the structure and explore MIDI, chords, Serum Presets, samples, sound design, automation and mixing techniques.
